Kansai International Airport, currently being operated by New Kansai International Airport Company (KIAC), is the West Japan’s international gateway airport as well as the domestic hub airport. JAC has been involved in a wide range of studies prior to the establishment of KIAC for the first and second phase development of Kansai. JAC’s works included site selection study for development of Kansai, a series of examinations for establishment of the instrument flight procedures of aircraft departing from and arriving at Kansai, formulation of several airport master development plans, planning and design for development of the runways, taxiways, aprons, passenger terminal building, aeronautical ground lights and CNS/ATM facilities.
More recently, JAC participated in facility layout planning for the second phase development area as well as various forms of support services for privatization of KIAC.
